How does a sports-themed setup fit a food certification institute event? Surprisingly well! We recently participated in the SQF UNITES event at the Hyatt Regency Casino in Orlando, where the organizers wanted a sports-inspired decor theme—and it was a hit!

So, how do these two worlds connect? It all comes down to symbolism and the emotions certain elements can evoke. Sports themes bring a sense of competition, teamwork, and energy—values that align perfectly with the dedication and collaboration required in the food safety industry. The right decor doesn’t just make a space look good; it tells a story, sparks emotions, and leaves a lasting impression on attendees.

How We Crafted This Setup

At Florida Event Decor, we believe in reimagining and reutilizing elements—it’s part of our core values. For this event, we took sports-themed props from previous setups and gave them a fresh twist to align with SQF’s message and branding.

A standout feature of the display was a set of lockers customized with the bold "SQF UNITES" slogan and the tagline "Coming Together for Food Safety." The ASI logo at the bottom highlighted their connection to the parent company. These thoughtful details made the setup feel personal and purposeful.

To bring the sports theme to life, we included props like football helmets, pom-poms, megaphones in SQF’s brand colors (red and green), and foam globes with this motivational messages: "We’re #1." Every piece was chosen to amplify the event’s theme while creating an engaging and interactive experience.

We also added two custom glow bars that stole the show. Picture a sleek, curved bar with a shiny silver trim and a glowing front panel that can light up in any color you want—talk about eye-catching! These bars weren’t just functional; they added a fun, modern vibe to the space. With a little extra time for customization, we even incorporated SQF’s logo to make the setup feel even more personal. The venue provided the bar structure, and we worked our magic to bring it to life.

To complete the look, we scattered six Lumocurve Highboys around the space—stylish, glowing cocktail tables that were perfect for guests to gather around, chat, and enjoy the event. These subtle touches tied everything together while keeping the fun, sports-inspired energy alive.
